Friday the 13th: For the Love of Horror

keep-calm-and-love-horror-movies-7It’s Friday the 13th. I love Friday the 13th.

Some people may see this as an unlucky date but positive things have always happened for me on this date. It’s the day in which the non-gambler in me purchases a profitable scratch off ticket. You know what else I love about Friday the 13th? It’s National Horror Lover Day. A day to be spent enjoying anything horror related: books, TV and movies.

I will have to decide whether to indulge with a Buffy the Vampire Slayer marathon. Or take a more traditionalist viewing approach with classic horror films of the 1930s and 40s, Boris Karloff’s Frankenstein, Bela Lugosi’s Dracula or Lon Chaney Jr.’s Wolfman.

Perhaps I’ll watch Nightmare on Elm Street with scary Freddy Krueger. And what’s Friday the 13th without Friday the 13th and that means Jason. There are many movies to choose, including one with Sam Winchester, actor Jared Padalecki. Or maybe a Supernatural marathon. But I’d probably would stick to the early seasons episodes where there were more classic horror, like Bloody Mary. I just won’t say it three times in the mirror.

So, I’m gonna get my scream on. What about you?
