Ever since Los Angeles based future pop duo BLEITCH, made up of Piers Baron and Madelyn Deutch, arrived on the music scene in 2013, they’ve been making waves with their groundbreaking and genre-bending sound. By combining atmospheric melodies with wistful synthesizers, they created songs that captivated and intrigued listeners as well as critics, and solidified their status as one of the most daring music groups of this day and age. Their music has made an appearance on the final season of True Blood, reached #3 on the Hype Machine charts and earned a Best New Music pick on iTunes UK. Clearly, they are a group on the rise in the music industry and beyond.
Their new single “Speaking of Moments,” written by both Baron and Deutch, exemplifies exactly why they are artists to watch. As a follow-up to their previous single “Crime,” “Speaking of Moments” features a similar merging of surreal melodies and heady synthesizers, punctuated by lyrics which are both insightful and sorrowful. It’s one of those songs that grab the listener from the minute that the first chord is struck and then proceeds to keep them enthralled.
