Vixen, the New Superhero

Today at the Television Critics Association press tour, CW’s boss Mark Pedowitz announced that CW Seed’s animated series “Vixen” was renewed for a second season.

It was also confirmed that Megalyn Echikunwoke, the actress that voices Mari McCabe aka Vixen in the animated series, is also set to have a live-action debut on Arrow later this season. Mark also teased that a female-led superhero show could make its way to the schedule, even adding that: “Vixen, which is the animated piece, is a superhero of diversity and color. Hopefully that character can spin itself out — if not, join the Legends (Of Tomorrow).”

For those who don’t know, Vixen is an animated web series that aired on CW Seed a couple of months ago. Produced by Marc Guggenheim (Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow) and directed by James Tucker (Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox), the series introduces Mari Jiwe McCabe to the same universe that the TV shows Arrow and The Flash already share. And here are some of the reasons why you should totally watch this show.

Check out the trailer below and give this show a chance, after all, the first season is only 30 minutes long!
