Exclusive Interview with Older Than Oceans

12115884_994692970588974_6824480239589333976_nTNWU recently chatted with punk-pop band Older Than Oceans, from Long Island, NY. An up-and-coming band with a great sound. Their newest album, “It’s Not Me, It’s You,” is an impressive work that really showcases the band’s growth from their first album, “I, Undefined.”

How did you all meet?

Basically, through friendships and word of mouth through bands we were all a part of. We were all on the same page right away in terms of our writing and what we wanted to sound like as a band.

Who are your biggest musical influences?

There’s so many! The Wonder Years, A Day To Remember, Silverstein, Senses Fail, Four Year Strong just to name a few.

Where did you record the music video for “Hindsight Isn’t Always 20/20”? The video has very intimate, homey feel.

Yeah, it was a cool place we found about a half hour away from where we live (Bellmore, NY). It’s meant for video shoots and rehearsals. We just loved the look of it when we went to check it out so we shot it there.

Any new projects in the works?

We’ll be coming out with a new release by summer time along with a ton of shows to promote it. Definitely, be on the lookout for some new music from us!
