Washington-based rock alternative band Night Argent has set a date of April 22, 2016, for the release of their first self-titled EP, produced by John Feldman (Panic! At the Disco and 5 Seconds of Summer) and recorded at their hometown studio on Argent Road. 2015 was a landmark year for the band, which saw them win the International Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands. They released their self-produced first music video, “Nothing More Beautiful,” an incredible blend of visual artistry and musical skill. The band also toured heavily with Vans Warped tour, capturing audiences and music management alike with their powerful vocals and arena-worthy percussion. They then signed on with Mike Mowery at Outerloop Management. The band is starting out 2016 with a bang, announcing just last week a booking partnership with Artist Group International (Muse, Silversun Pickups, The Strokes). This hard-working, talented band is poised to make a huge mark this year on the rock music scene.
The EP is available for pre-order on iTunes, and also released another stunning music video, “Widowmaker, “which is currently available on Alternative Press as well as on YouTube. It’s possible this will be an even bigger hit for the band; either way, Night Argent is planning a huge musical year.
Lead singer Chase Manhattan says, “When we set out to write and record our debut EP, we wanted to create music that would resonate with people from all walks of life. We spent the better part of a year touring the U.S. playing the songs for as many people as we could, and as we experienced those moments, we were able to feel the energy and response from the crowd. It influenced how the songs came to life in the studio. We took those unique moments that would happen spontaneously on stage and incorporated them into the finished songs. We are beyond excited to finally be able to share these songs with all of the friends and fans we’ve made along the way.”
The band’s manager, Mike Mowery (CEO, Outerloop Management) had this to say about working with Night Argent and their debut EP release: “It’s an honor for me to be working with Night Argent. Like a boyhood story of trying to impress a young woman, I slowly made attempts to entice this amazing band. They already accomplished so much on their own, and their genre is one I love, but not one I’ve worked in too often. We flirted, dated, and opened up to one another about our hopes and dreams, and finally sealed the deal a year after meeting. And now, as we announce their EP to the world, I am as happy as can be. Their talent is beyond words, and “Widowmaker” and this EP are the stunning evening gown for our first formal night out on the town.”
The EP has five original tracks, as well as a bonus track of a deconstructed “Nothing More Beautiful.” The band’s latest track, “Widowmaker” is available free, with pre-order. Manhattan says of “Widowmaker:” “On the surface, “Widowmaker” could very easily be taken as just a song about a seductive and deadly love, but the lyrics are used as an allegory for addiction. As one of the most commonly shared human experiences, up there with love and death, we all experience it. It knows no boundaries or barriers, it affects the lives of everyone it touches.”
Night Argent is described as an “anthemic” rock band with strong melodies and an infectious, high energy fueled live presence. The five piece band consists of Manhatttan the memorizing lead vocalist, Jeff Stachofsky on guitar, Shane Santanna on keyboard, Evan Taylor on bass, and Zac Burrell pulsating on drums. On tour they have performed with Imagine Dragons, Parachute, X Ambassadors and more. The band picked up the grand prize at the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, as well as awards from the Billboard World Song Contest and ISC, and has been featured on MTV, Bravo, and Showtime. “Nothing More Beautiful” made its debut on Redbull.com
The Washington state band of natives launched their television presence on “AXS Live” and won a “Best Cover” contest hosted by “On Air With Ryan Seacrest.” Night Argent headlined a six-week, seven state tour sponsored by AXS TV. They performed at The Quantum Collective’s Southwest Invasion along with X Ambassadors at SXSW. For the Vans Warped tour, the band produced an exclusive 5 song EP for their fans at the shows.
