Image Expo to Honor Diversity in Comics Industry

Image Comics has announced a Spring Formal to celebrate diversity in the comics industry. It will feature The Valkyries—”a group that has made great strides over the past several years building an accepting, inclusive community and repeatedly championing diversity within the comics industry.” The event will also highlight the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund and their “efforts to protect and promote diverse creators and their work.”
Image Expo will host the dance after the expo ends at 6 p.m., beginning at 8 p.m. and running until midnight. Valkyrie members can submit their credentials before March 25 to receive a complimentary ticket. The event, which is for members and fans aged 18+, will be held in the spirit of most Spring Formals, with formal wear requested and plenty of music to dance to, courtesy of New York Times bestselling creators of THE WICKED + THE DIVINE, Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie.
If you happen to be in the area of The Showbox Market Theater, look up the Image Expo and get your tickets to the Expo and the Spring Formal for an opportunity to meet some amazing names in the comic book world while getting a piece of nostalgia from those good ol’ high school days of formal dances.
