Boys Like Girls Announce Self-Titled Anniversary Tour

Remember when Boys Like Girls all made us feel like heroes and heroines when their songs came on the radio, and we could achieve that great escape from reality with their sweet sounds infiltrating our ear drums? Capture that feeling again by seeing Boys Like Girls live this August when they go on tour in select cities to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of their self-titled debut album!
Ten years ago on August 22nd, Boys Like Girls released their debut album, which included the popular tracks “Hero/’Heroine,” “Thunder,” and “The Great Escape.” This was the album that opened the door to the group’s multi-platinum career, introducing them to a mainstream audience that would come to obsess over their songs even to this day.
I have some fond memories of jumping around my room while listening to Boys Like Girls, acting more like I was performing with the band on stage rather than daydreaming in a small-town home. Today, I still do the same thing, since I still know almost all the lyrics. These songs all have a sense of nostalgia attached to them, especially “Hero/Heroine” and “The Great Escape.” The group simply put out some genuinely addictive pop rock music.
Now, fans can get this wonderfully memorable album on vinyl for the first time ever! However, the 500 original tri-colored copies that were pressed via Field Day Records have all sold out. But don’t fret! There will be more to come, as implicated by the Boys Like Girls website.
Also on the website, fans are able to order pre-sale tickets for the tour this August, which went on sale today, May 10th. General on-sale tickets will be available this Friday, May 13th, at 12 pm local time, so don’t miss your opportunity to see Boys Like Girls play their first album in its entirety live this August!
