MTV’s 2016 VMA Nominations

The nominations for the 2016 Video Music Awards were revealed Tuesday, July 26th on Facebook Live. In honor of this year’s New York venue, the Video of the Year nominations were painted onto a panoramic mural in the East Village.
Leading this year’s nominees is the queen herself, Beyoncè, who is up for a total of 11 awards, the most nominations she’s ever gotten in a single year. The influence from her HBO special Lemonade is evident as it inspired MTV to create a new VMA category called Long Form Video. She will be up against Florence + The Machine, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, and Troye Sivan, who each made their own visual albums this year.
You can vote once per category per day on MTV’s website. If you vote in all categories, you will have the opportunity to win tickets to attend the award show.
The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from Madison Square Garden on Sunday, August 28 at 9 pm ET/PT.
