USA Network’s Mr. Robot Scores Six Emmy Nominations

USA Network and Universal Cable Productions’ hit drama series Mr. Robot has received six Primetime Emmy® nominations from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Along with the nomination for Outstanding Drama Series, the show’s main star Rami Malek received a nod for Lead Actor in a Drama Series and creator Sam Esmail is nominated for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series.
This marks the first Outstanding Drama series nomination for both USA Network and Universal Cable Productions, and Malek’s first Emmy nomination.

Produced by Universal Cable Productions and Anonymous Content, Mr. Robot is currently airing its second season on USA Network. It follows Elliot Alderson (Malek, ‘The Pacific’), a cyber-security engineer who becomes involved in the underground hacker group fsociety, after being recruited by their mysterious leader (Slater, ‘Nymphomaniac’). The series also stars Portia Doubleday (‘Her‘), Carly Chaikin (‘Suburgatory‘) and Martin Wallström (‘Simple Simon‘).
The hacker drama as also received three Golden Globe Award nominations and two wins including Best Drama, a Peabody Award, four Critics’ Choice Award nominations and three wins, and two Writers Guild Award nominations and one win for Best New Series.
