The “Lighten Up” EP was engineered and co-produced by a close-knit team consisting of Grammy Award winning engineer Erik Wofford and Chief Converse Rubber Tracks engineers Aaron Bastinelli and Justin Douglas. The EP was mastered by Michelle Mancini (Alicia Keys, Fitz & The Tantrums) at Larrabee Sound Studios in Hollywood, CA. Birthday Club will be supporting the release by hitting the road with a series of national tours starting this fall.

Birthday Club is a new project founded in late 2015 by Stephen Wells, one of the primary songwriters in the popular Texas-based psych-pop band, Featherface. The band had great success touring nationally in addition to performing as official artists at major festivals like SXSW, CMJ Music Marathon, and X-Games Austin. Birthday Club has since hit the ground running, already opening for major acts like Avi Buffalo with their full crew of Wells (vocals, guitar), Valeria Pinchuk (keyboard), Travis Peck (drums) and Josh Cobb (bass).

With excitement towards the release of their upcoming EP, Wells explains, “Lighten Up is a record that was written during a journey from one vision to another. It was written for people who could use a little help along the way. In short, it was written for ourselves.”
