Fox renews ‘The Masked Singer’ for season two

Fox is giving celebrities another season to trick both judges and viewers alike on The Masked Singer.
The network announced on Wednesday it has renewed the celebrity competition show following the breakout success of its inaugural season.
“The response to The Masked Singer has been fantastic, and we are thrilled to bring it back for another season,” Rob Wade, president of alternative entertainment and specials at Fox, said in a statement. “I am so happy to see a singing peacock burst into pop culture! The Masked Singer is unique, bold, original and embraces the DNA of all the best Fox unscripted series. We look forward to season two being even more fun, weird and wonderful than the first.”
The news of the renewal should come as no surprise to anyone. During its inaugural season, the show is averaging more than 11 million viewers per episode and is the No. 1 new show in the demo, coming in at 3.5.
The show’s premise has judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke guessing the masked singer’s identity based on clues from a pre-performance package as well as the song they sing. Nick Cannon hosts the series.
