At the CW Upfronts on Thursday, the network gave everyone a first look at Batwoman, the newest superhero show to enter the Arrowverse. Let me tell you: she can kick ass.

The show stars Ruby Rose as Kate Kane, who returns home and continues the hero legacy of her cousin, Bruce Wayne.

The CW also revealed the official synopsis for the inaugural season of the show: “Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, she must first overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”

Batwoman andSupergirlwill air back-to-back this fall with the freshman series providing the lead in for Supergirl.
