After a three-year break, get ready to “scream” once again.

The long-awaited third season of Scream is finally making its debut. However, this time it will air on VH1 after originally airing on MTV for the first two seasons.

The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news and VH1 later confirmed it by releasing a trailer and the July 8 premiere date.

The third season has been titled Scream: Resurrection and will air as a three-night event with two episodes each night Monday-Wednesday.

The third season will see the show hit the reset button, rebooting everything from the location to the entire cast. The show will also bring the Ghostface mask from the films to the small screen in an attempt to re-launch the show to a new audience.

Some of the new cast members include Mary J. Blige, RJ Cyler, Keke Palmer, Tyler Posey, C.J. Wallace, and a special appearance by Paris Jackson. The third season is set in Atlanta and follows football star Deion Elliot, whose past comes back to haunt him.
