‘The Challenge: War of the Worlds 2’ recap: One team’s alliance is ripped apart

Wednesday’s episode of The Challenge: War of the Worlds 2 saw both teams dealing with their own sets of drama, leading to an elimination that not even host TJ Lavin saw coming.

In case you missed, here’s a recap of what went down.

A puzzling argument

Following Laurel’s win last week, the teams reconvene to discuss how they will move forward. Team USA vows to never throw in a member of their own team for elimination again, while the Brits are desperate for a win.

TJ then welcomes the teams to this week’s challenge and it’s a doozy. The teams need to build a pyramid puzzle on top of a raft, then carry the raft 400 meters to obtain a relic and carry it back to shore. The first team to carry two relics back to shore would win.

The Americans start off strong and obtain their first relic with ease. Things get tense on their second trip. Jordan begins arguing with Ninja, complaining that she isn’t doing anything to help the team and splashes her with water. The disagreement gives Team U.K. a chance to catch up and get their first relic to shore. With both teams on the way back to shore with their second piece, the struggles continue. In the end, Team USA would pull out the win.

Team USA may have won the challenge, but you wouldn’t have known it from how they reacted afterward. Jordan gets pissed at Turbo for kicking the relics and the two start pushing and shoving to the point that security is called. Eventually, things calm down and the tribunal is formed. Zach is nominated as the team speaker, picking Tori and Turbo to join him.

Brits have issues too

If you thought the Americans had issues, the Brits might have it worse. At their nomination ceremony, the team is stuck between nominating Bear or Rogan for elimination. C.T. is fed up and decides to nominate Bear and Idris follows his lead, doing the same.

The result has Kyle angry and Georgia crying (yet again.. *eye roll*) at the thought of losing another friend. Something tells me this isn’t going to end well. This deliberation made one thing clear: C.T. knows he’s at the bottom of the totem pole because he’s not a true Brit. So here’s hoping he wins an elimination and joins Team USA.

A surprising elimination

Bear asks the tribunal to throw Rogan in so he can beat him and stay in the game. However, Turbo wants to nominate Jordan due to their fight earlier. Tori convinces Jordan to apologize to Turbo, even if he has to fake it.

At the elimination, TJ is surprised when Bear was nominated by the Brits. All three members of the tribunal pick Joss to face Bear in the elimination challenge. The final challenge was tough as it required the two men to race around a maze, and use all their force to push past each other once they meet in the middle and ring a bell. The first to ring the bell three times would win.

Joss easily wins the first round and Bear comes back to even things up in round two. Joss wins the next two rounds to stay in the game, sending Bear home. Joss decides to stay with the Brits despite their losing streak.
