Anthony Geary Bids Farewell to General Hospital

For many General Hospital fans, today, July 27 marks the end of an era for them as soap icon Anthony Geary bids farewell to General Hospital  and the character that made him a household name, Luke Spencer.

Geary joined General Hospital in 1978 and became half of the famous Luke and Laura super couple. He played Luke Spencer until 1984. Geary returned to General Hospital  in 1993 playing the double role of Luke and his lookalike cousin, Bill Eckert.

In 2014, Anthony Geary’s Luke embarked on a major storyline that saw the hero turn villain, leaving tragedy in his wake.  It was revealed that Luke had suffered a personality split caused by a secret he had locked away in the corner of his mind.

Geary has won numerous Daytime Emmy Awards for his portrayal of Luke and accolades from actors and fans alike.
