‘Supernatural’ Recap — Episode 8.16, “Remember the Titans.”
Most fans agree that this was a fairly mediocre episode. But, it was filler, after all, and it was fairly interesting for that.
The Winchesters go to investigate a case about a “zombie,” or a guy who got hit by a car and leaked blood everywhere, then got up and walked away. They find his corpse, which again, gets up and walks away. Luckily, when they assault the undead man, he seems just as worried about it as they are and enlists their help in trying to figure out what’s wrong with him, since he apparently has amnesia.
This is when he’s attacked by a girl with a knife, but manages to fight her off. Somehow, this coupled with the fact that he dies everyday makes Sam absolutely certain that this guy is the titan Prometheus, and the girl that attacked him was Artemis. I guess Sam is just that smart.
Then, as if a titan isn’t enough, a woman shows up with a child who is Prometheus’s child, and the child has the same dying-and-reviving-every-day curse that the titan does. It’s like a really depressing soap opera. So, at this point, Prometheus is willing to do anything to break the curse, on the kid if not on himself. Sam and Dean decide that the best way to do this is to summon Zeus and kill him.
Sounds like a plan!!
I’m forced to accept that this point that Supernatural runs on an American Gods sort of universe (which definitely is no long shot) and gods become weaker the less people worship them, because if not then I have a really hard time believing that two guys in plaid are going to be able to up and stab the ruler of Olympus.
Of course, a confrontation happens, and to be fair, the Winchesters don’t kill Zeus. Artemis does, since she was for some reason in love with Prometheus? Which is really weird considering that, I’m pretty sure Prometheus would kind of be like a distant grandfather sort of figure to her, so…well, I don’t know. Greek mythology does whatever it wants to.
So, the episode was a little here and there and the acting from some of the guests was cringe-worthy at times, but I’ll take it.
Mostly because they randomly decided to throw in a major Castiel moment at the end, without the angel even being there. Dean sits in his room in the batcave and prays to Cas, asking him to watch over Sammy. You know who Dean trusts with Sammy?
No one, that’s who. This is a big thing.
But, of course there would have to be a big thing, because we don’t get any more Supernatural for basically the next month.
Long-suffering sigh.
Catch the next episode of Supernatural on Wednesday, March 20th on the CW at 9/8c!

I am just so happy with last night’s episode of Supernatural and I can’t wait for more of it! I am just so happy that it was as good as I expected, and I was looking forward to coming home from work last night to find this episode waiting for me. I definitely wasn’t disappointed!
