Little Lion Man by Mumford & Sons

Within the last two days, I have listened to the Little Lion Man at least thirty times and I’m pretty sure that I have a new favorite! It is a universal song that resonates with a diverse range of people. It can be interpreted in so many different
ways, that it is difficult not to fall in love with it. In my opinion, this song is about the choices we make in life and the effect they have on the people around
us. Marcus Mumford describes a painful moment in his life and sings about how that moment affected his little Lion Man. He tells us that it wasn’t the little Lion Man’s fault, but his own. He never tells us who the Lion Man is, but leaves it open for the listener to decide. It allows the song versatility in circumstance. It fits your life even if you didn’t have the same experience as the artist himself. Deep lyrics, for a deep band! From Thistle & Weeds, 2009 to I Will Wait, 2012, Mumford & Sons’ lyrics have meaning… Depth. They give you something to think about.
So, tell me. What do you think?
