Recommended Fall Reads

A couple of days ago I was chatting on Twitter about authors. The good, the bad and the truly horrible. I got asked about what I was reading these days so I thought that I’d do a series of recommendations. There are truly some wonderful authors out there. Besides the Stephenie Meyer’s, EL James, Stephen King’s and Anne Rice’s of the world, I thought I’d introduce and enlighten you to some authors (not just New York Times best seller, but also amazing independent authors).

First off, forget 50 Shades! If you’re a fan of the erotica genre I highly recommend Sylvia Day’s “Crossfire” series. Sylvia is a New York Times best-seller of many genres, but I have to say this series is one of my favorites! Gideon was cool WAY before Christian Grey.

Start with “Bared to You” and enjoy all of Gideon’s hotness. You won’t be sorry.

Here’s a synopsis of the series.

Bared to You
He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily…
Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds… and desires.
The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn’t tear us apart…

Reflected in You
Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t want to. He was my addiction… my every desire… mine.
My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful… except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.
We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession…

Entwined with You
From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I also saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside–so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat.
No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.
Entwined by our secrets, we tried to defy the odds. We made our own rules and surrendered completely to the exquisite power of possession…

Captivated by You
Gideon calls me his angel, but he’s the miracle in my life. My gorgeous, wounded warrior, so determined to slay my demons while refusing to face his own.
The vows we’d exchanged should have bound us tighter than blood and flesh. Instead they opened old wounds, exposed pain and insecurities, and lured bitter enemies out of the shadows. I felt him slipping from my grasp, my greatest fears becoming my reality, my love tested in ways I wasn’t sure I was strong enough to bear.
At the brightest time in our lives, the darkness of his past encroached and threatened everything we’d worked so hard for. We faced a terrible choice: the familiar safety of the lives we’d had before each other or the fight for a future that suddenly seemed an impossible and hopeless dream…

Next up, Lori Foster! Lori is also a national best-seller of many genres. But there are two genres that I’m enjoying from Lori at the moment. The first is her MMA (Mixed Martial Arts/sports romance) series entitled, The “Ultimate” series! Begin with the novella, “Hard Knocks”. You’ll adore Gage and Harper! After that, follow it with “No Limits” so that you can meet Cannon and Yvette and go toe to toe with them.

The second is her suspense series called “Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor”. There are five books in this series. Start with “When You Dare”. That is probably (even though I love all of them) my favorite. What isn’t there to like about a man who is a sexy mercenary? Go on an adventure with Dare and let me know what you think.

Here’s a synopsis for you of the series!

WHEN YOU DARE
Professional mercenary Dare Macintosh knows business should never be personal—but when Molly Alexander asks him to help her track down the men who’d had her kidnapped, Dare just might be tempted to break all his rules.

TRACE OF FEVER
On a mission to take down a dirty smuggling ring, undercover operative Trace Rivers falls for the ringleader’s long-lost daughter. But can he trust her with the truth—and with his heart?

SAVOR THE DANGER
Alani Rivers has vowed never to trust a man again-but something about strong, sexy vigilante Jackson Savor makes her want to believe in second chances…

A PERFECT STORM
Bounty hunter Spencer Lark knows too much about Arizona Storm, including the nightmare she survived. Yet nothing has prepared him for her courage under fire—or for the desire she stirs in him.

WHAT CHRIS WANTS (novella)
As the right-hand man to a group of take-no-prisoners mercenaries, Chris Chapey is used to keeping secrets—until he meets Matt Houser, the one man who tempts him to bear his heart.

My last recommendation for the week is my Tigris Eden.

Tigris is not only one of my dear friends, but she can also write some kick ass books. She writes contemporary along with paranormal romance. I love her “Tales from Beauville series” I highly recommend “A Slow Burn” along with “Give and Take”. Steamy, fun and hot reads to get your cold night off to a hot start. You should also try her extremely popular Shadow Unit series. Start with “Enslaved in Shadows” and go down the list. There are currently four books in the series with more to come!

Here’s a book trailer for the Shadow Unit series!

Here’s an excerpt of “A Slow Burn” ahem…I think Jackson is definitely one of my favorite book boyfriends!
