Talk Nerdy With Us, Junior!

There have been many studies that indicate playing music for babies stimulates their brain function in multiple ways. Classical music can tap into unused portions of the brain, raise IQ, increase memory, and make you smarter. Heavy metal can also trigger serotonin levels, but oftentimes the loudness can negatively affect sensitive baby ears (as well as annoy your neighbors, who are probably not happy with you and your crying infant to begin with). Fortunately help is at hand! Rockabye Baby Music has released several CDs of your favorite rock artists, turning their grind into bedtime lullabies.
For starters, we have Rockabye Baby Metallica, including their hit songs, Master of Puppets and Enter Sandman. You can sample Enter Sandman here:
Rockabye Baby also features lullaby fare from Guns n’ Roses (Sweet Child of Mine), Pearl Jam, David Bowie, The Foo Fighters, the Beatles, Queen, and more.
We also have Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star, which has produced lullaby CDs of Megadeth, Flogging Molly, Stone Sour, Phish, and my personal favorite Nightwish.
In case you still haven’t had enough, there’s Jammy Jams’ collection of Little Headbangers, volumes 1, 2 and 3. These are compilation CDs, and features the now soothing sounds of AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Slayer, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper and Metallica, to name a few. If your rock tastes dip into hair bands of the 80’s, there’s a Jammy Jams collection of Hair Metal Goes Lullaby (Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Cinderella), and Lullabylooza for all you alternative fans with spawn (Soundgarden, Radiohead). Both Twinkle Twinkle Little Rockstars and Rockabye Baby have collections of Bon Jovi (great to play after putting the baby down in his/her very own Bon Jovi onesie). In case you need a bedtime prayer, too, here’s “Living On A Prayer.”
You can order Rockabye Baby, Twinkle Twinkle Litte Rock Star, and Jammy Jam CDs from Amazon.com, as well as F.Y.E. Amazon Prime offers streaming, as does iTunes, and the labels have channels on YouTube. You can follow

These sites have subscription services as well, and most are open to parental suggestions for additional bands to be covered, but I imagine, once all three lines have been examined, there is hardly a stone left rolled over.
Put your hands in the air little headbangers. Mommy and Daddy can show you how to make your rock and roll horns. These series just prove you’re never too young for the school of rock!
