There have been many studies that indicate playing music for babies stimulates their brain function in multiple ways. Classical music can tap into unused portions of the brain, raise IQ, increase memory, and make you smarter. Heavy metal can also trigger serotonin levels, but oftentimes the loudness can negatively affect sensitive baby ears (as well as annoy your neighbors, who are probably not happy with you and your crying infant to begin with). Fortunately help is at hand! Rockabye Baby Music has released several CDs of your favorite rock artists, turning their grind into bedtime lullabies.

In case you still haven’t had enough, there’s Jammy Jams’ collection of Little Headbangers, volumes 1, 2 and 3. These are compilation CDs, and features the now soothing sounds of AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Slayer, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper and Metallica, to name a few. If your rock tastes dip into hair bands of the 80’s, there’s a Jammy Jams collection of Hair Metal Goes Lullaby (Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Cinderella), and Lullabylooza for all you alternative fans with spawn (Soundgarden, Radiohead).
