SDCC 2019 Movie Predictions

One of the biggest events of the year is without a doubt San Diego Comic-Con. Next year’s convention is set to take place July 17-21, 2019 at the San Diego Convention Center. As you may know, tickets for this convention are difficult to acquire, but not impossible. For our advice on how to do so, check out our full guide.
2019 is set to be the convention’s 50th year, which means they must have something pretty epic planned, right? Here are my movie/wishes predictions for the convention:
Star Wars IX — I remember the thrill of watching 6,000 plus Hall H attendees get led out of the hall and onto the lawn for the surprise Star Wars concert featuring the San Diego Symphony in 2015. I’m not sure how much more epic you can get than that, but I know Lucasfilm has it in them. Honestly, if they showed even a .5 second clip of Episode IX, I would be satisfied. The movie is set to release in December 2019, so the timing for a 2019 Comic-Con appearance would work out. Here’s hoping!
Wonder Woman 1984 — After the short clip of Wonder Woman 1984 that Patti Jenkins showed to Hall H in 2018, everyone’s curiosity has been peaked. While we still do not know a lot about this movie (like how the heck is __ alive??), this would make for an even greater feature during the DC panel in Hall H. Wonder Woman 1984 is set to release in June 2020.
Something from Marvel Studios — I’m really grasping at straws for this one because I don’t think Marvel is going to bring their movies to SDCC anymore. Their presence was wildly missed this past year, but I’m not sure it was enough for them to come back and show footage, especially considering it somehow ALWAYS gets leaked. They also have been doing more and more at D23 every year, so the signs seem to be pointing towards little to no Comic-Con presence. Since I’m making predictions, I would love to see a panel for Spider-Man: Far From Home (although it comes out a few weeks before the convention, which just makes me believe Marvel knows exactly what they’re doing and how to dodge spoilers). But hey, a girl can dream. Right?
IT: Chapter 2 — After the huge success of the first installment of IT, I really do think they’re going to bring chapter 2 to the people of San Diego Comic Con. Judging solely on the amount of kickass Pennywise cosplays you see around the convention floor, it’s evident this film has established a huge fan base. The movie features some pretty big stars that would be amazing to see on-screen with thousands of other fans. IT Chapter 2 is set to release in early September 2019 and stars Bill Skarsgård, Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, and Bill Hader.
Joker — I will admit I was among the masses crying “Why do we need yet another Joker film?” But I shut up real quick when I saw the make-up test. This would be insane to see at Comic-Con. Joaquin Phoenix always provides content and it’s right up the convention’s alley.

I believe Marvel will have some Hall H panel at SDCC 2019. Whether it be for the Disney+ streaming shows or upcoming theatrical releases. Also, I think Kevin Feige had mentioned there will be a Marvel Hall H panel at SDCC 2019 but don’t quote me on it.
I sure hope Lucasfilm brings Star Wars: Episode 9 to SDCC 2019. Even with a teaser trailer or dropping new info, fans would go crazy in Hall H.
Here are a few other movie predictions that could have a Hall H panel.
Kong v. Godzilla – Comes out in May 2020 and with Godzilla: King of Monsters having already come to SDCC this past year, i can see this movie being apart of the WB panel.
Zombieland Too – Comes out later part of 2019. With a great cast and being that 2019 is the 10 year anniversary of the original, this would be a great Hall H panel.
Terminator 6 – Also comes out in late 2019. Not sure about this one but with Arnold & Linda Hamilton coming back for this movie, I can see this movie having a panel at SDCC 2019.
