‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Season 9 premiere recap: Let the drama begin!

The highly anticipated ninth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premiered on Tuesday night and the ladies showed they are not holding back one bit.

The biggest question surrounding the season centers around Lisa Vanderpump, amid rumors she is departing after Season 9. The tagline promises viewers will get “THE REAL STORY” and it is “EVEN MORE SHOCKING! EXPLOSIVE!” Yeah, you get the point.

The premiere kicks off with a massive argument between Kyle Richards, Vanderpump, and Vanderpump’s husband, Ken. We don’t know what actually caused the fight, but we get the sense that Kyle thinks that Lisa did something, and Lisa claims she did not do it. As someone who has caught a few glimpses of RHOBH here and there when my mom watches it, I understand the ladies have been unhappy with Vanderpump for a few seasons now. If this fight is only the tip of the iceberg, this season is going to come to a crashing finish like the Titanic.

Lisa is crying and upset, but not because of the fight; she’s crying because she is grieving the death of her brother, who committed suicide a few months prior to the start of filming. Here’s where I feel really bad for Lisa: her brother died and left a huge question mark as to why he took his own life, a question that will always be in the back of her mind. That’s something no one should ever go through.

Teddi and Kyle head to Vanderpump Dogs and Lisa’s employees keep going on about how Dorit got a dog from Lisa, but the dog ended up biting her husband, PK. So Dorit gave it to a woman, who instead returned it to Vanderpump Dogs. This just pissed off Lisa more than she already was.

Meanwhile, Lisa Rinna (aka the wannabe Kris Jenner) had Dorit and Erika Jayne over to introduce the newest housewife Denise Richards to the group and the viewers at home. Rinna then told the girls how she was in a movie with Richards’ ex Charlie Sheen and he sucked her toes. There’s an image I really did not need in my head.

The final scene of the episode comes as Kyle is having a pool party as a ‘grand opening’ for her new house. And let me tell you, that house is gorgeous! I may not know anything about design, but that house looks like something out of a movie set. What a great job Kyle’s team did.

Anyway, Teddi and Dorit put their differences aside and try to enjoy the night. The episode actually ended on a high note with everyone singing Kumbaya (not literally). But as we all know, things can change very quickly in Beverly Hills.
