“America’s Got Talent” Recap: Acts Give It Their All For a Spot in The Finals

America’s Got Talent continued on Tuesday night with just a week until its Season 15 finale. The final 11 semifinalists took to the stage and left it all on the line for a chance to make the finals. Tuesday’s performance featured singers, magic, and danger (!!!) nearly going wrong.

In case you missed it, here’s a recap of Tuesday’s performances.

W.A.F.F.L.E. Crew

Kicking things off was Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer choice W.A.F.F.L.E. Crew from New York. Ever since their audition, I’ve been impressed by these guys and Tuesday was no different. They performed to Joe Budden’s “Pump It Up” and it was honestly better than their quarterfinal performance.

The surprising thing is they were put in the dreaded “spot of death” aka opening the show. Only five acts in 15 seasons have gone to the finals when going first in the semifinals, so tonight’s results will be interesting to say the least.

Kenadi Dodds

Next up was tween singer Kenadi, who continues to impress many with her strength at a young age as her family deals with a rare eye condition that has left every one of her family members blind except her. Anyway, she sang Thomas Rhett’s “Be A Light” and it was truly emotional and heartfelt performance. I don’t know if Kenadi will make the finals but I do know she has a very bright future ahead of her.

Max Major

I don’t want to waste more time on this guy than I need to. So I’ll sum up Max’s performance like this: majorly boring. He fumbled on his “guesses” and the “random” audience member gave him a number and he repeated the wrong number back to her. Thank you, next.

Bello Sisters

Again, I don’t get the love for this act. Don’t get me wrong, they are insanely strong and beautiful women. However, the only thing that was different Tuesday from their previous performance was adding a blindfold. Was it impressive? Yes. Would I vote for them to make the finals? Probably not.

Celina Graves

I’ve loved Celina since her first audition but in my opinion, she fell flat on Tuesday night. She sang Labrinth’s “Jealous” and while it was good, it was not great. I’ve watched singers perform this song on talent shows in other countries and it was sung much better. As much as I like her, I don’t know if Celina has a chance to make the finals.

Jonathan Goodwin

My biggest fear is heights, so watching Jonathan perform this sent chills down my spine. When watching AGT, I often ask myself if I can see the act in a Vegas show and my answer is yes with Jonathan. Following his performance, he told the judges that he has something bigger planned if he makes the finals. I can’t even imagine what he’d do but I want to see more.

Christina Rae

Ever since her first audition when she got Heidi’s Golden Buzzer, Christina has been one of the favorites. She delivered her best performance thus far, singing “Jump” from the movie S.T.E.P. I think she’s a lock for a top-three spot, so I’d be stunned if she did not make the finals.

Bad Salsa

These dancers from India have been on a few shows overseas and when watching their performance, it is easy to see why. They performed several dances and tricks to “Top Lesi Poddi” by Sagar. They were impressive enough to earn a spot the finals and I hope they do.

Voices of Our City Choir

Host Terry Crews’ Golden Buzzer choice was up next and while they are a good choir, they didn’t have a ‘wow’ moment for me. They sang David Bowie’s “Heroes” and it was truly inspiring and emotional given all they have been through. I just expected more.

Brett Loudermilk

This was probably one of the grosser acts in AGT history, so I won’t spend too much time on it. If I wanted to see what someone’s stomach looked like, I’d watch something on TLC. Thank you, next.

Daneliya Tuleshova

Closing out the show was the 14-year-old singer, who is my personal favorite to win. She sang Jessie J’s “Who You Are” and if you close your eyes, it sounded like she was singing as a guest performer, not a contestant. Daneliya is the best child singer this show has ever seen and she will have a massive career after this.
