“Superman and Lois” renewed for Season 2 at The CW

Superman and Lois premiered just one week ago and ahead of tonight’s second episode, the show has been given the green light for a second season by The CW.

The network announced on Tuesday that it has renewed its latest Arrowverse superhero drama for another season after its series premiere gained an additional million viewers in delayed viewing, moving from 1.7 million to 2.7 million.

“The phenomenal multiplatform debut of ‘Superman & Lois,’ which delivered for us in a big way on both a linear and streaming basis, is a testament to the creativity, hard work and dedication of the talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera, especially in this challenging environment,” said CW Chairman Mark Pedowitz in a statement.  “We are thrilled to now have two brand-new bonafide hits in ‘Superman & Lois’ and ‘Walker,’ both of which have been renewed for next season along with 11 other of our shows, further positioning us for continued strength and stability for next season.”

The series follows Clark Kent/Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) as he moves back to Smallville with his wife Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) and their two sons Jonathan Kent (Jordan Elsass) and Jordan Kent (Alexander Garfin).

Superman and Lois join recently the network’s recently renewed shows for the 2021-22 television season: Walker, All American, Batwoman, Charmed, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty, The Flash, In The Dark, Legacies, Nancy Drew, Riverdale and Roswell, New Mexico.
